Laura Scroggins is a teacher who leads by example. She dislikes the traditional route of teaching in favor of more creative learning solutions. Instead of learning by rote memorization terms and equations, we learned concepts to apply to our own unique investment situation, using any mathematical models as needed. Many of my peers also enjoyed this non-traditional approach, as they felt they were learning on a higher level than their other courses.

Personally, Laura is very approachable, and was able to find common ground with just about every student in the class. I feel this is a sign of a class that can rise to a high level of learning and efficiency. Along with many of my peers, I hope she stays part of the business department here at Humboldt State.
