Three Letters for India

Today I invested in the Morgan Stanley India Investment Fund, Inc (IIF).

The MS India Investment Fund is a closed end fund that started in 1994 and currently has over $980 million dollars invested in India.I was looking for a fund that had a long-term presence in India. My rationale? If mutual fund companies continue to move into India as they've announce they will do, the share prices of existing funds may be bid up.

The low 1.38% expense ratio (low for an emerging) and the ease of purchase adds to the attractiveness of this fund. Lastly, when I go into emerging markets I prefer investment management companies that can sustain 100s of millions of dollars in losses. I trust Morgan Stanley Investment Management can sustain large losses.
